Job Search Guide
How to run an efficient, focused job search instead of a scattered one.
A focused search of 15–20 well-matched roles usually beats a scattershot search of 100 mismatched ones, both in outcome and in how manageable it feels.
Getting started
- Write down what you actually want next — role, industry, location or remote flexibility, and the trade-offs you're willing to make
- Build (or update) one strong base resume and profile, then tailor lightly per application
- Set up saved searches and job alerts so relevant roles come to you
- Track every application in one place — role, date applied, status and any follow-up needed
Staying consistent
A job search is easier to sustain in short, regular sessions than in occasional long pushes. Blocking a fixed hour a few times a week tends to work better than an all-day search once a month.
